[another person who makes him nervous. she moreso than shirley or mami, and he really doesn't have to be nervous, does he? this is just audio, she can't see the frown he wears as he thinks about what to say to her, what to do, is his empress okay?

there's silence for a while, but eventually:] Hey, Nunnally...

[it's weird.

he's come back from 'your majesty' and 'empress', so calling her by her first name again— it's weird. he doesn't think he'll get used to it right away, but he's always been good at adapting to changes. probably. he hopes.]

I'm sorry for disappearing again, but I'm back now. [apologetic, always.] Just today, actually, a couple of hours ago— [and he saw that lelouch was back, and so was c.c., they're back and doesn't that just make him the happiest person in the world (not)?] I just wanted to call you and let you know.

[When she had checked her voicemails, she hadn't expected to hear Suzaku's voice. Her reaction is immediate; she's happier already -- so that meant that Lelouch, C.C., and Suzaku were all back here again. It was a good thing in her eyes! But then again, she is constantly oblivious at just how awkward things were between everyone.

She listens to the message, and doesn't take much longer after that to call him back.]

Suzaku! I'm so glad to hear that you're back! [Get blown away from the happiness, Suzaku.] You don't need to apologize...it's not always someone's fault that they leave. But I really missed you!

[good, good, he's positively blown away! and... glad she's happy - sounds so, at least - taking this as a well-deserved win after that disappearance.] I missed you too, Nunnally.

[and he found that he did even though he just saw her not even five minutes before he'd arrived. this has definitely been a Day, shifting through the numbers on his phone like clockwork to see if anyone he knew was still here - people he knew, not the other way around (because no one knows zero).

still,] How are you holding up?

[Nunnally will forgive anyone and everyone pretty much, especially for things that were beyond their control.

Holding up? Hm. Well.] Lelouch is back, as well as C.C. So I guess I've been doing a lot better recently, especially now that you're here again too!

...I see. [well, that's— something he already talked about with kay, so.] I'm glad you're doing better now that we're all back.

[and then, without missing a beat (without asking about lelouch, or c.c.):] I guess we're just waiting on Schneizel and the rest, huh?

[It was nice, having Shirley -- but when there weren't nearly as many people from home, it was a little lonely. Just a little bit! She had friends here as well, that she'd made here.]

It would be nice to see them again. Maybe even Clovis?

[Even though she might be the Only One to be happy to see him again...] But I'll cherish the time I have with the people here, anyway.

nunnally, you're too good for this world. that's suzaku's very firm opinion.] Clovis, too. Maybe the guy he made his knight would follow.

[again, he thinks, but maybe that's just him. he didn't dislike jin, not really, he just... avoiding everything that had to do with jin and clovis. it was too awkward for him.]

—that'd be good too, though... cherishing the time you have here. [he just hopes that, when the time comes, she'll go back to her duties. honestly, he has a really, really weird feeling that it doesn't matter either way, and that makes him really... wary.]

[She loves Clovis, okay. Even if she might be the Only One to love him.]

Maybe! It would be nice to all get together.

[Stop. Stop stop stop. Nobody wants to get together, Nunnally. But she can try to be optimistic.]

Mhm. Even with who we do have, we should all get together regardless.

[When she disappears from this world she will pick up her duties, but for now...hanging out with people she thought were dead was good for her. It'd been a long couple of years here, but at least there was that.]

No, not yet. I've been thinking about it only recently, and haven't contacted them yet. But I was thinking about it soon!
